Living Like a Local - Off the Beaten Path, Dinning Edition

If you're visiting Naples, you've probably already got places like 5th Avenue, 3rd Street S and Waterside on your radar. But what about the places that don't show up in all the guide book and blogs? Here's a few of our favorite "Off the Beaten Path" places:

Dining Edition - Small, locally owned and worth seeking out!

Brooklyn Dough - 935 3rd Ave S
Tucked in a side street off Tamiami Trail, the bagels at Brooklyn Dough have become a weekly staple in our lives. Hand roll, kettle boil, and bake fresh daily with all your favorite traditional flavors, they also feature unique weekly special...Fruity Pebbles bagel with a Marshmallow schmear, Apple Pie bagel with a Carmel schmear, etc.

Bean to Cup Coffee Lounge - 3248 Bayshore Drive

We love Bean to Cup any time, but we never miss stopping here on our way to the Naples Botanical Gardens. Great coffee drinks, smoothies and light food in a comfortable setting. Make sure you head out the back door for a beautiful outdoor area.

Goldies5400 Taylor Rd

Tucked away in an industrial park, Goldies serves classic American breakfast and lunch. The food is good, but it's the homemade peanut butter and strawberry jam that bring us back. Pro tip...use them on your pancakes instead of syrup!

Carole's House - 8793 Tamiami Trail E

Fresh baked croissants, quiches, breads and pastries. Enjoy a delicious baguette sandwich and then grab a box full of pastries. The almond croissant is a favorite of mine.

They've opened a 2nd location in North Naples. I haven't been to that spot, but I'm going to assume it's up to the same amazing quality.

Flaco's - 2371 Vanderbilt Beach Rd

A family favorite since they opened their original location back in 1996, I can't begin to estimate how much of their fresh made salsa I've consumed. My mom and I are always up for a plate of burritos and enchiladas smothered in sauce and cheese, but on a recent visit my dad raved about the grilled mahi mahi.

Oh, and the make a mean margarita!

Grouper & Chips - 338 9th St. N

Serving the freshest fish for the last 27 years, this tiny spot is tucked in to a strip mall, Grouper & Chips is a Naples staple. If you plan on eating be prepared to wait for a table. Don't want to wait for a table? Get your order to go and a quick 5 minute drive will get you to the beach to enjoy your meal with a spectacular view!

Are you local? Where's your favorite place to eat?
